Michelle began her post secondary education with an associates degree in philosophy from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond, B.C. in 2003. Her interests from an early age included asking "big questions" about the meaning of life, nature of reality, and different spiritual philosophies. The simultaneous focus on logic, ethics, and critical thinking laid a strong groundwork for training.

Expanding on this knowledge, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey B.C. in 2007. This degree centered around applied research and applications of psychology. She enjoyed being a research assistant on numerous studies and publications mostly centered around relationships, sexuality, and developmental psychology.

Michelle completed a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. in 2014 with a focus on photo art therapy and therapeutic photography. Her training consisted of a wide range of counselling techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, marriage counselling, existential psychotherapy, and trauma therapy techniques.

Her professional experience includes 20 years of working with nonprofit agencies in different roles. Michelle has provided counselling services at a wide variety of community agencies between Vancouver and Kelowna in individual and group settings with the unique addition of therapeutic photography. Michelle's passions include art, community fundraising, empowering individuals, and traveling with her two sons.
